About Attila Konnyu

Attila Konnyu is an American artist born in Hungary whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, film, and writing. Trained in architecture at Ybl Miklos University in Budapest, he began his professional life in cinema before turning fully toward visual art. His architectural formation establishes a structural logic that continues to define his approach to abstraction.

Working within an international context across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Konnyu develops a structurally driven abstraction grounded in perceptual rigor. His paintings articulate complex spatial systems governed by chromatic intensity and calibrated tension. Rather than functioning as expressive gesture, abstraction in his work operates as a disciplined investigation into the conditions of form and perception.

His work has been presented internationally, including exhibitions at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing and the Yuelai Art Museum in Chongqing. Konnyu contributes to contemporary discussions surrounding structural abstraction and the constructed nature of visual experience.
