In Chromatic Eruptions, Attila Konnyu develops a body of paintings structured by chromatic force, material density, and vertical tension. Rather than functioning as images in a descriptive sense, the works operate as dynamic fields in which pigment, gesture, and gravity interact.

 

Many of the paintings organize themselves around a dense central nucleus from which color expands outward into the surrounding space. Intense blues, yellows, and reds collide with darker material passages, producing a balance between concentration and dispersion, force and restraint.

 

Situated in dialogue with gestural abstraction, the series moves beyond the recording of gesture as such. What emerges instead is a painterly language in which material event and contemplative structure remain inseparable.​​​
