Signal Fields develops through a process of reduction using Chinese ink and acrylic on Xuan paper, where the surface is treated as an active, unstable field.

The absorbent structure of the paper allows each gesture to expand, bleed, and partially dissolve, creating a continuous negotiation between control and material response. Dark fields are built through layered application, not as backgrounds, but as spatial conditions that absorb and hold visual energy.

Within these fields, minimal interventions appear as concentrated events. A single mark, often reduced to a trace of red, does not function as a compositional element, but as a point of tension that activates the entire surface.

Across the series, variation emerges through shifts in density, distance, and disappearance. The work moves toward a state where less information produces greater intensity, and where presence is not constructed, but sensed at the threshold of visibility.
