The Brush of Energy

My paintings and installations draw deeply from the principles of Taijijian (太极剑, Tai Chi Sword), where slow, deliberate movements harmonize with breath to circulate qi (气), the vital life force in Chinese philosophy. For me, art is not a representation of this process but its direct embodiment: the brush moves like the sword, colors vibrate with energy, and space itself becomes a medium of flow.

With a background in architecture and cinema, I bring together Western traditions of abstraction and Taoist ideas of balance and resonance. My canvases echo both calligraphy and martial movement, where a single stroke condenses rhythm, intention, and presence. Each painting unfolds as a cycle - movement feeding breath, breath guiding energy, energy creating harmony. My work is less about composition than circulation, inviting viewers to slow down and attune to the unseen dynamics of form.

Beyond the canvas, I extend these principles into immersive environments such as Awakening and Heart, where light, sound, and mirrored space activate perception. These works transform abstraction into lived experience, recalling the Taijijian training ground where body, breath, and awareness converge in harmony.

What matters to me within contemporary abstraction is the possibility of making the invisible visible. My art does not merely depict energy - it channels it.

Each brushstroke, each installation, becomes a vehicle for qi, opening a path to presence, dissolving separation, and harmonizing inner and outer worlds.

In my universe, the brush becomes a sword, the body a moving sculpture, and the canvas a field of living energy. Abstraction, for me, is not an escape from reality but an invitation to experience its deepest rhythm: the flow of life itself.

I invite you to experience this vision in motion through A Blade in Motion, a short film that reflects the relationship between Taijijian’s movement and my artistic expression:
